Potential of Microsoft’s Silverlight

I’ve read speculation that Microsoft’s Silverlight has the potential to be used to develop many of the pre-existing online tools we currently use, specifically that one could be one included with the .NET 3.5 update. Codeplex.com has taken the initiative and already started work on one.

Obviously this has the potential to be a much better than any traditional html/js based editor.
