On the back of a successful year in 2007, WorkCover NSW recently opened online applications for their Safe Work Awards and Inspector Jobs websites for the second year running. Both websites were developed by Izilla, with functionality for users to register, view, save and submit online applications for each respective website using CognitionECM CMS (content management system).

Whilst each site contains relatively the same functionality, the purpose for each is slightly different. The Inspector Jobs website was created as an online tool for the registration of individuals for the yearly WorkCover Inspector Recruitment Campaign. The Safe Work Awards website however, was created as an online tool for the submission of applications for the WorkCover NSW Safe Work Awards annual State awards scheme.

Each website required a multitude of functional and design specifications. Some of which are listed below.

• Custom site design
• Businesses can submit their application form online using a custom-built application form, supporting
  • Uploads of supporting documents
  • Saving of application form for later completion and submission
  • Nomination in multiple award categories
• Installation of CognitionECM, allowing WorkCover to administer applications by:
  • Searching and listing applicants
  • Exporting completed applications to pdf (bundling completed form information with uploaded supporting documents)
• Compliance with NSW Government Website Style Directive for web standards and accessibility as well as consistent layout of information among government websites
• Search engine optimisation
• Built using Microsoft .NET 2.0
