Blog Action Day
By Matt Stow at 10:59 in: GeneralToday is the day that 7,500 bloggers across the world unite to blog about the environment. Thank you to the Blog Action Day Team for this wonderful initiative.
I think it is fair to say that the thought of our planet burning up like an aussie bbq is quite over-whelming, but regardless of personal opinion on the topic the simple fact
remains, we are lucky to live in the world we do, and respect should be shown to it.
I believe the simple actions of the individual can make a huge difference. For example if you were to walk into Andrew Wisener’s (Izilla Technical Director) office you’d notice the variety of road and mountain bikes stashed away in the corner. It’s great to see a few dedicated Izilla employees travel to work via the good pedal and chain each day. Thank you for turning your office into a bike-shed Andrew
Another example of environmental consciousness (even if small) is the recent initiative to start recycling in the office. As the building that Izilla resides in doesn’t provide a recycling bin, a garbage bag now rests near my feet, filled with coffee cups, paper and recyclable goods, ready to be transferred to my home for recycling each Friday. Now begins the challenge of training up staff to actually use this system, maybe I’ll need to enforce it Terry Tate style (see below video).
Having respect and an environmental consciousness isn’t difficult. It just takes a little effort.
Thank you for reading

Rock on Andrew. You’re like Izilla’s own Captain Planet. I can hear the theme song now.
Captain Planet… he’s our hero. Gonna take pollution down to zero…
Yeah, you know it. You just won’t admit it
I used to watch that show when i got home from school!
